People talk about niche like it’s sacred, like the smaller your focus, the cooler you are. I’ve worked across industries, across cultures, across jobs. I call myself a deep generalist. I dive in wherever I land, learn fast, dig deeper, and yeah, sometimes I panic at how much I’ll never know. But that’s the thrill.

Nothing is niche anymore. Everything went global. What used to be local or underground now connects across continents. The internet didn’t just expand communities—it scattered them, then brought them back together in new, strange ways. You can find people with the weirdest hobbies, the quirkiest obsessions, the most niche tastes. You’re never alone, but you’re never just local either.
Trends have grown into whole industries, and hobbies can quickly turn into careers. Micro trends can open up new markets. The focus should be on the blend of curiosity and community. Find where your passions meet with others who share your interests; that's where you thrive, creativity flourishes, and innovation starts. This is what I personally believe in.
No one else can be exactly like you, so use that to your advantage and tell your story. I have to admit it felt good to hear Gary Vee repeat the same idea in a recent podcast episode.
